Description

Nikko Toshogu Shrine is a shrine in Tochigi Prefecture, and this year marks the 25th anniversary of its registration as a World Heritage Site as the Shrines and Temples of Nikko. To celebrate this occasion, the GUNPLA MG Musha Gundam Mk-II Tokugawa Ieyasu Nanban-Dogusu Ver. will be dedicated to the shrine.
This item was created in honor of Nikko Toshogu Shrine and to contribute to Nikko City’s regional revitalization efforts using plastic model kits.
Its design is based on the colors and helmet of the Nanban-Dogusoku, a set of armor that is said to have been worn by Tokugawa Ieyasu during the Battle of Sekigahara. Its body and armaments have been applied with black and chrome plating, the red sections such as kusazuri (tassets) are recreated with stickers made with Japanese paper, and the Mitsuba Aoi (trefoil hollyhock) family crests are reproduced with glossy stickers.
A dedication ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 26th, and the plastic model kit will later be exhibited at Nikko Toshogu Shrine.
Pre-releases begin from 9:00 AM on Monday, May 27th at the Omiki (sacred sake) offering spot, and the item will also be available at THE GUNDAM BASE stores (general GUNPLA facilities), Premium Bandai, and other events at a later date.
